Volunteer Application

Book Fair Australia is looking for volunteers for our next event in Sydney.

 

Do you love books? Want to meet some great Aussie authors? Love supporting independent authors and artists? If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you!

 

We have a number of roles from attending the ticket desk to letting some of your favourite authors know it's almost time for their panel or workshop, to facepainting and checking in with guests and partners.

 

All volunteers will receive a volunteer t-shirt, have tea & coffee provided, and receive free admission into the event.

Volunteers may be placed in several areas/roles over the weekend including the following:

  • Children's corner – face painting helpers, introduce authors for readings etc

  • Guests – remind guest authors of panels/workshops, provide water etc

  • First Aid – must have a valid First Aid Certificate

  • Floor – remind exhibitors of panels/workshops, general exhibitor enquiries

  • Ticketing – checking and selling tickets, handing out wristbands and showbags etc

  • Workshops – direct guests to workshops, manage number of attendees etc

  • Bump-in/out – helping to set up and dismantle displays and signage, check in exhibitors, creating showbags and raffle prizes

Safety Agreements

I understand that safety vests are required during bump-in and bump-out as the venue will be classified as a 'construction' zone. BFA will provide a safety vest for you if you do not have one of your own to bring.

I have read and agree to abide by the terms of the Work Health & Safety policies and guidelines.

I have read and agree to abide by the terms of the Event terms and conditions.

I understand that will be given a Volunteer t-shirt and wristband, that I am required to wear the t-shirt during my shift and the wristband all weekend for access to the event.
